Jerry was born on April 19, 1935 in Bellingham, Washington to Lyle and Agnes Jaderholm. An only child, Jerry grew up with his parents on Bellingham’s south side. During his youth, he enjoyed a variety of activities, including school dances, sports, caring for his dog Mike, delivering newspapers, boating and fishing. He attended schools in Bellingham and graduated from Bellingham High School in 1953. Jerry married Barbara Eleanor Quinn, also from Bellingham, on February 8, 1958. Following moves to Kirkland and later Garden Grove, California, Jerry and Barbara eventually made Newport Hills in Bellevue, Washington their home, where they raised their three children.
Jerry served as a Marine from 1952 to 1960. Following an honorable discharge, he pursued his passion for Sales and Marketing with an entrepreneurial business approach and desire to connect with people. He was employed as a store and regional manager for J.J. Newberry Department stores for many years before he joined Pacific Coast Feather Company in Seattle. Jerry eventually established his own company where he enjoyed the freedom and benefits of self-employment. In addition to his work, Jerry enjoyed travelling, coaching and watching soccer, showing classic cars, listening and dancing to Dixieland music, and playing cards. Always social, ready to give a hug and offer advice – Jerry enjoyed many gatherings with friends, family and business associates.
Parents Lyle, Agnes and wife, Barbara, preceded him in death. He is survived by his 3 children, son Jerry and Kimberly Jaderholm of Whidbey Island, daughter, Jamie and Greg Allott of Anacortes and daughter, Julie and Jim Webster of Bellingham. Grandchildren, Ashley and Kevin Pond, Tyler Allott, Emily Webster and Dylan Rogers and Abigail Webster and Elliot Willy.
Jerry will be remembered for his quick wit, broad smile, bear hugs and his quote “HOW SWEET IT IS”! He never passed on a good deal and was always on the lookout for a business opportunity. Jerry loved the thrill of the sales game – the challenge, the people and the possibilities – dreaming, searching and always hoping to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
