Gladys A. Kreiling, 79, of Bellevue, WA, passed away peacefully in the Whidbey Island home of which she had always dreamed. Gladys was born on May 6, 1945 in Chicago, IL, daughter of the late August and Mary (Siran) Kreiling.
Gladys was a doting and loving sister and aunt, greatly valuing her extended family. Before retirement, Gladys enjoyed teaching multiple generations of students in the Bellevue school district. She is a graduate of Blanchet High School, Santa Clara University and University of Virginia. One of Gladys’ greatest wishes was to retire to a home on land she purchased early in her life located on Whidbey Island, where she spent much time with her niece and nephews when they were young, investigating tide pools and digging for clams, a home she could share with her extended family. Gladys achieved this dream late in her years, with a house designed by her nephew Reid.
Gladys is survived by sister Marianne and her husband Ronald Geck, niece Elise Geck, nephews Ross Geck and his wife Laurie, and Reid Geck and his wife Dakarie Johndro, one grand-niece, her husband, and their son, and three grand-nephews. She is predeceased by her Aunt Maria Kreiling.
Gladys attended church at St. Louise Parish in Bellevue. The Rite of Committal and burial will be scheduled for March 18th, 2025, at Sunset Hills Memorial Park at 2:30 p.m.
