September 21, 1938 - June 28, 2010
Harvey Allen Rotman passed away at Swedish Hospital in Seattle, Washington on June 28, 2010, surrounded by his beloved daughters, Terri, Deborah and Amy. Harvey was born on September 21, 1938 in Blackwell, Oklahoma to Hyman and Beatrice Rotman. He was raised in Tulsa, graduating from Will Rogers High School, and earning a BS in Psychology from the University of Tulsa and his law degree from the University of Oklahoma.
Harvey’s maternal grandfather, Lionel E.Z. Aaronson, was a respected rabbi in the early Tulsa Jewish Community and Harvey was very proud of his heritage. He was a member of Temple Beth Hatfiloh in Olympia Washington at the time of his passing. He worked hard all his life, putting himself through school by selling shoes. He started his own law practice in Tulsa, and eventually partnered with a good friend to form Hall and Rotman.
Harvey raised his daughters with two mottos: Your word is just like a promise and, If you’re going to do something, do it right the first time and see it through to the end. As adults they always felt his quiet support and were able to live their independent lives knowing he could be counted on for unconditional love.
He loved fishing and boating and started his boating adventures with a canoe which he used to carry on the top of his car and launch in Tulsa’s Mohawk Lake. He continued his love of the water after the family relocated to the northwest in 1977. He had a knack for buying, fixing and selling cars and helped many family members find fantastic cars for very little money over the years.
Harvey was a loving, kind hearted, generous, spunky man, with a fantastic, off beat sense of humor. His throaty deep Dracula laugh was the best and scariest ever. The family will never forget his brave heart when confronting his final illness. We love you Dad. Your spirit lives on in each of us. We will miss you always, but we are happy you can now rest and be at peace.
Harvey is survived by his daughters, Terri Rotman; Dr. Deborah Seemann; and Amy Baker; son-in-law Matt Baker; Renee Harlow; longtime partner Jo Blanchard; grandchildren Isabella and Joshua Seemann, Ella Grace Baker and Finn Harlow.

The soul takes flight into the world that is invisible and there arriving he is assured of bliss and will forever rest in paradise.
From Jewish funeral contributed by Terri:
"In the rising of the sun and in its going down.
We remember him.
In the glowing of the wind and in the chill of winter.
We remember him.
In the opening of buds and in the rebirth of spring,
We remember him.
In the blueness of the sky and in the warmth of summer,
We remember him.
In the rustling of leaves and in the beauty of autumn,
We remember him.
In the beginning of the year and when it ends,
We remember him.
When we are weary and in need of strength,
We remember him.
When we are lost and sick at heart,
We remember him.
When we have joys we yearn to share,
We remember him.
So long as we live, he too shall live,
For he is now a part of us, as we remember him.
WE LOVE YOU DAD! You know who loves you? We do.....always
