I was sad to read about the passing of Howard.You have my deepest sympathy. I was a grade behind Howard at Teague High and also played football with him. He was on the A team and I was just a B team player. Howard was a great person. Handsome with a great smile. I was taking flying lessons at the same time as Howard but he was ahead of me with the lessons. He took me up in an Aeronica Champ and let me fly the plane. He guided me through my very first attempt at landing. I bounced a couple of  times but made it safely. In looking at the pictures of Howard and your family it appears he had a very good life and enjoyed travel and boating as well as flying. He made a difference in the world and the world will miss him.

My heart goes out to you and your family Mary Ann. I remember back 20 years ago when my 12 year old daughter had an interest in flying small planes.  Howard called me up and offered some of his flight instruction manuals to her.  Howard was always so kind and such a southern gentleman.  I'm lucky to have called him a friend and neighbor. Our prayers are with you, Mary Ann and Family.  Howard was a great friend and neighbor.  We will be out of town on the 14th, but will keep you in our thoughts.

Mary Ann, my heart is with you.  I didn't know Howard well, but I remember him as this wonderful, gentle man.  God bless you and be with you!
