It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Janet Olive Andrews. Janet was born in Centralia, Washington, on February 19th, 1931, to Olive and William Brooke and peacefully departed this life on June 20, 2026, at the age of 95.
Janet was raised in Washington and attended North Kitsap High School in Poulsbo, where she distinguished herself academically and graduated as valedictorian of her class.
She went on to attend the University of Washington, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. During her college years, Janet was an active member of the Tri Delta sorority, serving as Pledge Trainer during her senior year.
In 1953, Janet married the love of her life, Jack, just one week after they both graduated from college. Before starting their family, Janet earned teaching credentials in both Washington and California and dedicated herself to educating young students.
When Jack joined Boeing in 1956, Janet continued teaching until they welcomed their three beloved children. She then devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising their family and creating a warm and loving home.
Jack’s career later took the family to Texas, where Janet became President of the Garden Club in Seabrook and remained actively involved in her community.
The family eventually returned to the Pacific Northwest, settling in Somerset, Washington, where Janet served as President of the Recreation Club. She was also an enthusiastic tennis player in the Bellevue club and particularly enjoyed competing in the Bubble Cup.
Following Jack’s retirement, the couple embraced a shared passion for golf. Janet excelled at the sport and achieved the remarkable accomplishment of recording two holes-in-one. During these years, Janet and Jack enjoyed spending winters in California and summers in Washington before eventually making their permanent home at The Watermark in Bellevue.
Together, Janet and Jack built a life filled with love, family, friendship, and community. Their enduring partnership was the foundation of a beautiful life shared with their three children and many cherished friends.
Janet was preceded in death by her daughters, Jill Andrews and Joan Adkisson.
