Jennifer Lee Staggs, beloved friend, partner, sister, jet-setter and eternal life of the party, passed away peacefully in her sleep of natural causes on August 8. Jen, who lived in Seattle, had many friends all over the world having previously lived in Beverly Hills, NYC, San Francisco and Maui and traveled extensively for work and leisure. She was known to all for her infectious laughter, unbridled joy for life, and keen sense of irony. An established entrepreneur with a sharp intellect and uncanny instincts, she connected people and created opportunities wherever she went. Always accompanied by her beloved schipperke, Buddy, Jen was a heartful soul who cared more about others than herself. Jen found inspiration by pondering the moon and challenging others to rise above and be their best selves. Passionate about the environment, women’s rights and all manner of animals in distress, Jen served on several non-profit boards and was selfless in all things.

Jen was a graduate of Interlake High School and Washington State University. She had a masters in life and a thirst for travel. In addition to Buddy, she is survived by family and friends too numerous to mention here.

There will be a public viewing on Friday, August 16 beginning at 10AM at Sunset Hills Memorial Park, 1215 145th Place, Bellevue, WA followed by a funeral service at noon at the same location. A reception will be held nearby immediately following the services for any who care to attend and share a remembrance of Jen.

I am saddened to hear of Jens passing. I happened to be in FB today and saw a colleagues post. She was the life of the party and I was lucky enough to work with her through some fun times at Departures Magazine. Sending love to all family and friends.

I am shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of Jen. She and I went back to the SF days in the late 1990s, and she lived with me in NYC in 2004. She had such positive energy and a contagious laugh that I can still hear. My condolences go out to Lou, who I know was a dear friend of Jen's.

Jen was very kind to me always specially when I had not many friends because I relocated from London to Los Angeles. She knew what it was to move to a new city and not know many people. She went out of her way to invite me to places and be my friend. I will always remember her 40-year bday and that is so fun and full of laughter. We all got kind of crazy that day :) She was always with her companion Buddy, such a small dog and acted as a huge dog. I went to visit her in New York and she showed me everything that she could show in those 3 days. She was the perfect host and never a dull moment with her!! Such a lovely soul, full of laughter and full of entertaining stories and men she was smart!! I feel blessed I met her and I am sure I will meet her again someday. Last time I facetime her she was with Buddy in a restaurant in Seattle ... full of laughter and just being Jen ... funny and charismatic Jen....thank you for showing zest of life!! and be kind and unique!!

Speaking of Jennifer always being unselfish and considering her friends....I’m remember a few years ago when Jennifer unselfishly shared many of her beautiful designer clothes with me to give to my young daughter-in-law in Gresham, OR. They was while she was hosting an Alaskan salmon dinner at her home in Seattle. The salmon was caught by her uncle in Alaska and he brought the salmon to her in Seattle.

I honor Jennifer Staggs and celebrate the beautiful and extraordinary woman she was - I think all who knew her would agree that she would captivate hearts - she was beautiful, highly intelligent, adventurous, and had a great passion for life and all those blessed to be with her. People simply fell in love with Jen from the moment they met her, and I can still recall that day in Bellevue, WA at age 12 when I met her for the first time. For all of her jet setting world wide travel and great achievements, what was most beautiful about Jen, was her beautiful heart and soul. I miss you Jen, but take comfort in knowing that you are now in the ultimate paradise, Heaven - perfectly loved by The Lord who called you home.

So many memories of Jen. Her birthday was the day before mine so we enjoyed some fun celebrations over the years and it always made me smile to hear from her on that day.

One of my most endearing memories is when she came to my rescue. I had discovered my mom had an empty stocking on Christmas Eve. I called Jen in tears late Christmas Eve and told her that no one in our family had filled my mother's stocking. Her and her mom gathered all sorts of little things to help me in the middle of the night on Christmas Eve so my mother would wake up to goodies like the rest of the family. She always stepped up for her friends.
