Jiun Ming "Jimmy" Ling

Jiun Ming “Jimmy” Ling, 68 years of age, passed away in his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, December 20, 2018, in Bellevue, WA.
Jimmy was born on October 13, 1950 in Taipei, Taiwan to Dean F. Ling and Yea-Yeh Ling. He was the fourth of five children.
Jimmy served in the Taiwanese Army achieving the rank of second lieutenant. He graduated Hsing Wu University with a degree in International Trade. He married Shu Chen Lee on January 1, 1979, and together they had two children, Jenny and Jerry. Jimmy and Shu were married for 39 years and lived in Taipei for 3 years until they emigrated to Seattle in 1982. Jimmy worked for the US Postal Service until he retired in 2004.
Jimmy will always be remembered for his humor and friendly nature. He was a kind man who adored his family and friends. He maintained a wide circle of friends and was everyone’s favorite uncle. He had millions of stories and always found the humor in every situation. His humor was contagious, and he could instantly make friends with anyone. He loved snacking and drinking tea. His hair always had to be styled just right. He consistently had a new pair of shades that were “cool.” He loved playing with his grandson Ross and spoiling him with toys and trains.
Jimmy loved to travel around the world with family and friends. Among his many journeys, his favorite was to Tibet in 2005.
He is survived by his wife Shu Chen Ling, daughter Jenny Ling, son-in-law Michael Safren, grandson Ross Safren son Jerry Ling, daughter-in-law Lori Tseng, mother Yea-Yeh Ling, sisters Ruey Huang and Rina Lin, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
