Joan Helen (Newfarmer) Humphreys was a believer and faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. A retired elementary teacher and tutor, she was a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother and aunt to her family and friend to many. Joan’s loving nature and genuine desire to help people left a lasting impression on all those she came across in life.
A native Californian, Joan was a resident of Medina for nearly 40 years and cherished being part of a local community of her neighbors, friends and groups like the Medina Circle Book Club. She was a long time member of Bellevue Presbyterian Church, serving as a deacon & elder and enjoying fellowship with her Women-at-the-Well bible study group. She loved spending time at her favorite Lake Washington spots, playing with her grandchildren and of course cheering on the Seahawks and Mariners.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years Cyrus; son David and daughter-in-law Kristin; daughter Annie and daughter Chelly. She also is survived by her precious grandchildren: Kiah, Crystal, Ciel, Lillie, Maddie, Jessica, Lucas and Ryan; along with her dear brothers Jerry and Richard.
The family requests any memorial donations in Joan’s name be directed to either of the following charities:
Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (https://www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org)
American Cancer Society (https://www.cancer.org)
A Celebration of Life service will be held for all family & friends at a later date at Bellevue Presbyterian Church.
