It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of JoAnn Le Roseburg of Bellevue, Washington on July 5th, 2025. She was born in Turner, Montana to Thomas Stirling and Georgia Teeple Stirling. With one sister and five brothers, JoAnn was the sixth of seven children. She enjoyed growing up on their family farm and would always share about her horse Lindy and her many sibling adventures. She graduated from Turner High School in 1955, and Northern Montana College in Havre. She went on to become a teacher in Harlowton, MT.
On June 7, 1958, JoAnn married the love of her life Conrad Martin Roseburg. They spent their honeymoon traveling to Seattle, Washington where Conrad had been hired as an engineer for Boeing. They stopped at what would become one of their favorite National Parks, Yellowstone.
JoAnn and Conrad made Bellevue, WA their home, where they were blessed with two children, Gary and Julie. She taught in the Renton and Bellevue School Districts and enjoyed working in The English as Second Language (ESL) program until her retirement in 1997. JoAnn and Conrad were members of the Elks Club and loved dancing. They served as the presidents for the Boots and Laces Square Dancing Club for several years. She would sew their matching outfits for each dance, and always enjoyed looking her absolute best.
Family was deeply important to JoAnn and this was seen through the many annual trips, traditions, and celebrations she and Conrad planned together. They started each summer season with their annual trip to Crescent Bar in Eastern Washington with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, growing the trip to 4 generations. They helped host large extended family camping trips throughout Oregon, and then ended their summers with a trip to Harrison Hot Springs in BC Canada for over 50 years. Whether it was birthdays, annual camping trips, holidays, exploring the mountains, or getting together for a boating adventure; there was always a reason to celebrate as a family.
JoAnn enjoyed their yearly trips to Hawaii and brought a little bit of the islands with her wherever she went, wearing a tropical flower in her hair and bringing joy to everyone she would meet.
JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents Thomas Stirling and Georgia Teeple Stirling, her sister Ida Jane Taylor and brothers Bill, Thomas, Wallace, Frank, and Roger Stirling.
JoAnn is survived and dearly missed by her loving husband Conrad of 67 years, 2 children: Gary (Juliana) Roseburg and Julie (Dave) Chamberlain, 4 Grandchildren: Justine Chamberlain, Kiona (Aaron) Rassat, Brett (Kelly) Chamberlain, and Oriana Roseburg, 4 Great grandchildren: Noah, Vaiola, Ian, and Rosalie Rassat, sisters in-law, Charlotte Stirling, Shirley Stirling, brother in-law Joe Tomlinson and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial Services will be held at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Bellevue, Washington at 1pm followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall.
