Jonathan Brady Byther

October 21, 2001 – January 22, 2023
Obituary of Jonathan Brady Byther
IN THE CARE OF

Sunset Hills Memorial Park & Funeral Home

On Sunday, January 22, 2023, Jonathan “Brady” Byther passed away at age twenty-one. Brady went to Eastgate Elementary, Tillicum Middle School and graduated from Newport High School in Bellevue, Washington. He was in his Junior year at Western Washington University studying Computer Science. He was the son of Mike and Sheri, brother to Jonah, Trey, and Kacin.

Brady was known for his love of music and playing guitar in several bands. He began taking guitar lessons at the Kaleidoscope school of music, then joined their rock band program in the 5th grade. He made lasting friendships in that program, which he participated in through the summer of 2022. He was also in a band in Bellingham in which they played several shows.

Brady was a lover of animals. It wasn’t unusual to see him loving on his dog, Sophie, or calling his cats Bella and Muno to follow him to bed. Muno even made an appearance in one of his band’s music videos.

Brady had a quick wit and generous spirit. He was surrounded by so many amazing friends from all areas of his life. Drawing a variety of unique characters, making random noises, posing with a chiseled face for photos, light sabers, Magic the Gathering, soccer, Ultimate Frisbee, learning the Bass guitar, trying new restaurants, he’ll be remembered for it all and more.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 4th, 2023, at 3 p.m. at Calvary Chapel Eastside in Bellevue. In lieu of giving flowers, the family asks that those who are able instead donate to Fred Hutch or to the scholarship music program at Kaleidoscope School of Music in Issaquah c/o Charles McCrone.
