Joyce Elaine Gettel

She was born in Pigeon, Michigan to Arnold and Helen Gettel on May 7, 1952.

Joyce is survived by her sisters, Diane Mills and Lori Garcia; her brothers, Kevin Gettel and Brian Gettel; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Helen Gettel, and her sister, Linda Shaw.

Joyce was an active member of All Saints Lutheran Church in Bellevue, Washington. She participated in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) and was a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed making quilts for the ongoing mission project for the LWML, served in the music ministry as a substitute organist, and attended Bible Study Fellowship. Joyce was a woman of faith and knew the importance of keeping God at the center of her life. Her faith shaped her outlook and was a source of guidance, strength, and community.

She graduated from Bad Axe High School in 1970.

Funeral services will be on October 16th at All Saints Lutheran Church, Bellevue, Washington. Burial will be at Colfax Cemetery in Bad Axe, Michigan on October 23rd.
