Kenneth Wayne Pridachuk
October 31, 1947 – July 1, 2018
Kenneth “Ken” Wayne Pridachuk passed away on July 1, 2018 at St. Joseph's Hospital, in Bellingham, WA. He was the devoted and deeply loving husband of Laurene T. Bell Pridachuk. Ken and Laurene shared 48 years of marriage together.
Ken was born in South Bend Indiana, the oldest son of Stanley and June Pridachuk. Whn Ken was 13 years old, the family moved into a home his dad and uncle built in Cassopolis, Michigan. He graduated from Cassopolis High School in 1965. He went on to attend LeTourneau College in Texas, during which time Ken's parents moved to Washington State. When Ken moved "home" from school it was to Washington rather than Michigan. He met Laurene at First Baptist Church of Bellevue. Ken obtained a job at the Union Pacific Railroad in Seattle where he worked for 44 years, first as a switchman then as yardmaster, and finally became manager of terminal operations.
He was a member of North County Christ the King Church in Lynden, and was a great supporter of his grandchildren Ellie and Kai in their programs at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Bellingham.
His greatest life's joy was his son, Matt and his grandchildren, Ellie and Kai. He enjoyed reading all kinds of books, but was particularly interested in history; he also enjoyed telling stories, visiting trains, working on old cars, and playing games with friends. He will be remembered for his dedication to family and friends, his sense of humor, and his ability to see a need and fill it.
He is survived by his wife Laurene, son Matthew and daughter-in-law Nicole and grandchildren, Ellie and Kai. He is also survived by brother Larry (Debbie) Pridachuk, sister Sandy Moneymaker, nieces Sarah Starr (Steve), Rachel Ives (Jeremy), and nephew David Moneymaker (Amber). He was predeceased by his parents Stanley and June Pridachuk.
The memorial service will be held on July 11, 2018 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church at 1:30 P.M. Bellingham, WA.. The graveside service will be held on July 13th, 2018 at Sunset Hills Memorial Park at 2:30 P.M. Bellevue, Washington.
