Kimi was born on December 24, 1934 in Okinawa to Hikoki and Maushi Sakiyama. She was second to the youngest of a large family and was known for her beauty.
For over 50 years, she was part of the Rose Hill community in Kirkland. She made many friends throughout, and especially during her near daily dog strolls through Mark Twain Park. She enjoyed hosting family and friends for the holidays and had a longtime reputation as an amazing cook.
Kimi was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene A. Danielson; and her children, Dana Bruce and Margaret. She is survived by her younger sister, Mitsuko Kendall, her husband Doug; her niece, Lisa Kendall and son Nathaniel; her nephew, Pete Kendall, his wife Jenny, and their sons Aaron and Gabe.
Kimi loved her dogs and she leaves Suzy and Chiko in the care of her dearest friend, Cherie Myers. She also leaves extended family in Okinawa, Japan and Hawai'i; beloved neighbors and dear friends.
A memorial service for Kimi will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday December 22, 2018 at Sunset Hills Funeral Home, 1215 145th Place SE, Bellevue, WA 98007. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Hills Memorial Park, Bellevue, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please pledge donations to Seattle Children’s Hospital, or Group Health Hospice Care.
