Elaine “Lani” Piilani Kalanialii Ableidinger Faye was born on September 27, 1965 to Wilfred “Willy” and Eunice “Kappy” Ableidinger. She was raised in Yakima, WA and graduated from East Valley High School in 1984, and Yakima Business College in 1986. Her career as a legal secretary took her to the Seattle, where she joined Boeing in 1987. She was always thankful that her time at Boeing allowed her and her son John a good life. After 25 years at Boeing, Lani took a leave of absence to move to London, UK, with her husband Rob.
Lani loved living abroad, experiencing new cultures and making new friends. She was especially interested in archeology and joined the Surrey Archeology Society, so she could participate in historic digs in England. She was also brushing up on her artistic talents and created several exceptional paintings.
Lani passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully on August 3, 2012. She is survived by her husband Rob Faye; stepsons Corin and Shane; siblings Robert “Bob” and Dale Ableidinger and Katie Walker. She was preceded in death by her son John Schuoler; parents Wilfred and Kappy Ableidinger; and siblings Marlace “Hon Hon” Ream and Kenneth “Peewee” Ableidinger.
We miss Lani tremendously and remember her knowing she lived life to the fullest; with a quick wit, giving attitude, fast smile and quirky laugh.
Lani adored her dogs; Moana, Mauka and Makai (aka 3M’s) and she spoiled them as if they were her own children. To honor Lani's love and devotion to dogs, especially Australian Shepards, the family requests that remembrances be made to http://www.aussierescue.org/SupportARPH/DonatetoARPH.aspx
