

Leah Janice Neilsen Morgan, 82, passed away August 22 at home due to complications of Alzheimer's disease. Leah was born September 9, 1930 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the daughter of Alfred and Eunice (Lindemeyer) Neilsen.
A 1952 graduate of the University of Nebraska School of Nursing in Omaha, Leah worked as a Registered Nurse in her home state of Iowa, and later in Nebraska, Texas and Washington. She retired after 16 years of nursing at Swedish Hospital of Seattle and went on to be a 10-year member of the Swedish Hospice Care volunteer program. An accomplished singer and pianist, Leah also enjoyed sewing, gardening, walking and reading.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Leah is survived by her husband of 61 years, John, son John (Sara), daughter Anne, granddaughters Andrea and Kelly, and close family friend Don Daniels, all of Washington. Her beloved Iowans are brother Jim Neilsen (Dagmar), nieces Lisa (David), Laurie (Lonnie) and Jamie (partner John), and great-niece Jessica.
Leah was lovingly cared for by family members and our home-care givers of the last 13 years, Savita and Doinita.

A Funeral Service will be held at Sunset Hills Funeral Home of Bellevue, Washington on Sunday, September 8th at 1:30 followed by a reception.
