Karen and family,

I am heartbroken for my friend, Karen, and I pray every day that she will be strong.
I will miss “Big Lew’s” giant hugs and droll sense of humor. Lew and Karen were our next door neighbors at Indian Ridge and I will miss him forever!

Karen and family, our condolences on your loss. Lew was kind to invite me to play golf with he and his buddies. There were always stories to be told. I enjoyed his good nature , desire to keep going , and love for the Canadian wilderness.

Lew was a friend to me; as soon as we met and he realized I too was a fly fisherman we planned several fishing trips together. My favorites were the first one to the North Platte in Wyoming and the Missouri in Montana.
Victoria and I got to know Lew and Karen better on the raft trip down the Grand Canyon.
Lew and I played some golf together at Toscana.
Victoria and I always enjoyed our get together meals with Lew and Karen at Il Forno and La Cucina.
Lew was a friend to me and will be greatly missed!

Lew and I had too much fun together. We played a lot of bad golf, caught too many fish in Montana and generally just enjoyed each other's company. One unforgettable time was when we both squeezed into a biplane and flew over Coachella Valley. I wasn't sure we would ever get out of that open air cockpit.

Lew, I am going to miss you greatly. We had some great times together and many laughs. Hit them straight up there.
