Born on April 24, 1938, Louis spent the first half of his life in Gia Định (now part of Ho Chi Minh City, formerly Saigon), Vietnam. He was the eighth of ten siblings.
In 1978, Louis left Vietnam with his mother, siblings, and extended family. Together, they embarked on a courageous journey aboard a crowded fishing boat. After many difficult days at sea, they finally reached Malaysia.
In 1979, through the sponsorship of one of his sisters, the entire family immigrated to the United States and settled in the Tri-Cities area of Washington. There, Louis studied at Columbia Basin College in Pasco while also working at the Hanford nuclear site, dedicating long hours to support his family.
In 1984, Louis and his family moved to the Seattle area. Together with his youngest sister, he founded Columbia Pharmacy.
Louis was a loving and resilient man who worked tirelessly to build a better life for his family. As an immigrant starting from scratch, he embodied courage, determination, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
In 1994, Louis married Stephanie, who was originally from France. Together they built a wonderful life in the United States and shared 32 years of marriage.
Louis was a pillar of strength—a fiercely devoted husband, a loving father, a protective brother, and a cherished grandfather.
He loved dancing, traveling, and pursuing his deep passion for photography.
Louis will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Stephanie; his sons, Philip and Jordy; his daughter, Elizabeth; his 3 grandchildren Isabella, Caleb & Lucas; and his many relatives and friends.
