Luella Timlick was born in Rolla, North Dakota to Rosa Guedesse and Ernest Dawson. She went to public school in Rolla North Dakota and graduated from Rolla High School in 1940. She attended business college and worked for the County Treasurer's Office. Luella married William Timlick (Bill) on Dec. 24, 1942. She had known Bill most of her life as they lived on adjoining farms in Rolla, North Dakota. After they were married, they lived the WWII vagabond life in Coffeyville Kansas and Eagle Pass, Texas. When Bill was sent to the Pacific Theater of the War, Luella moved back to North Dakota. Their first child Maxine was born in Rolla. After the war, when finally Bill returned, Maxine quietly asked Luella “Who is that man?” They then moved to Kalispell where their second child, Patrick, was born and then Missoula, where children Kathleen, Michael and Marsha were born.
They moved to Spokane, WA and lived there several years where Bill was in the real estate business. When they moved to Bellevue, WA Luella got her Real Estate License and helped with their business, “Bill Timlick Real Estate.” She loved showing houses. In September 1974, they sold their home in Bellevue and moved to Carpenteria, California, near where Patrick was living. They lived there for a few years and then moved back to Renton, WA. The grandkids all have special memories visiting with Grandma and Grandpa. They would swim in the pool and then have hotdogs for lunch. After a few years in Renton, they moved to Salem, Oregon where they lived until Bill’s death in 1993, a week after their 50th wedding anniversary.
Luella decided to move back to be closer to four of her five children and their families. She had a garage sale, sold Bill's tractor and sold her mobile home and then was ready to move to Issaquah. She has lived at Providence Point since 1995. She loved to knit, sew and quilt and play bridge with her friends at Providence Point. She also loved getting together with her family, grandkids and great grandchildren as well as friends, nieces and nephews.
