We met Maggie and Bob through our mutual friends Bob Johnson and Nancy Baggott. We have wonderful memories of wine tasting trips to Prosser and TGDG dinners with both Maggie and Bob at their beautiful home. Maggie was always so gracious. She will be missed..

We first met Maggie at her home when she hosted the first gourmet dinner for our TGDG. Of course, it was an amazing dinner with multiple courses, and the dinner table was beautifully set. Maggie was the perfect hostess, welcoming everyone and opening up her home. In subsequent years, she hosted several TGDG dinners. How she loved to entertain everyone. And her gardens were a park-like setting. On our first tour she showed off her vegetable garden - super impressed with her long beans. I especially wanted to visit more so that I could gather gardening tips from her. What a lovely person she was - ever so kind, smart, gracious and so very nice. She and Bob were some of our favorite people.

It is very clear that people were important to Maggie. She kept a calendar showing friends' birthdays and anniversaries, sending cards with  carefully chosen sentiments. She knew all her neighbors' names. Other memories tell how  friendly and social  Maggie was. She also had strong societal awareness, which was   especially prominent at major election times. A phone call to encourage voting may well have come from Maggie.  
She will be missed by family, friends and colleagues, as well as causes and organizations she considered worthwhile.

Your tribute s and celebration of life for your wonderful mother was heartwarming.  I remember Maggie as part of our Nursing Administrative Team at Eastside Group Health, Hospital.   I was only there for 5 years but The Nursing Team remained in touch through-out all these years. Thank you for opening up her Memorial Service online so that many of us who worked with your mother had the opportunity to  participate  and celebrate her amazing life.

Maggie’s Memorial
We first met Maggie and Bob through activities of DeMolay (a young man’s high school age fraternity) where our sons were members.  Our first DeMolay camping trip with Bob and Maggie and the boys to the Ocean beaches was the first time we were introduced to Bangers and Mash. A rather special Maggie’s meal when camping.  We participated in many DeMolay activities, enjoying Maggie’s special friendly and warming spirit and Bob’s quiet intellect.  One time was to help them move into their lovely home.  After our son’s grew out of DeMolay and off to college we remained in touch.  Eventually I was able to talk Maggie and my wife into starting another dining group in the fall of 2003.  Bob came up with the name TGDG or Traveling Gourmet Dining Group.  To date the TGDG has had over 60 dinners, with several at their home when they were the hosts.  Those planed and hosted by Maggie were always special and were truly Gourmet.  For several years we all also went on wine buying trips over to the Yakima valley.  With an overnight stay in Prosser, we all enjoyed good wines, several meals, and great friendship.  Plus, carloads of wine hauled back home in the “boot”.
Over the many years we have had the privilege to know Maggie and Bob, we treasure the memories of the adventures we experienced together.  Maggie’s bright spirit, wonderful smile, and wisdom will be missed.  God speed Maggie and we will remember you well.

I will miss the conversations we have had when we talked on Sundays. Margaret was my bridemaid when I marryied her brother Clive.  Always will be thinking of her. From her Sister in-law .

Maggie brought so much  joy and happy times ~ magnificent meals ,
  laughter and fun to so many of us,  thankful to be her friend.
 
May her beautiful gifted life be a happy memory for the family she

Thinking of you brings back fond memories.  I loved just listening to you talk, your smile, your gentle spirit, concern for others, your competence at work, your gardening skills, your great cooking and simply the goodness in your soul that always seemed to bring out the best in others.  I don’t believe you had an enemy in the world.  Like Raymond, everybody loved Maggie.  If the world had more “Maggie’s” this planet would be more tolerant and accepting of diversity.   Your spirit will be missed Maggie.  

I met Maggie in 1977 when Group Health Eastside Hospital opened.  I was the newly hired infection control practitioner and quickly learned to seek out Maggie. She stood out as the nurse who knew about all of the patients’ conditions, not just those who were assigned to her care. She was a fabulous cook and many of Maggie’s recipes are in my collection.  Everyone who worked with her looked forward to beautiful trays of cookies that she brought to share at the holidays. We became good friends, our husbands enjoyed each other’s’ company and we spent some lovely times together.  I will miss her spirit, sharing her many interests, listening to her laugh and seeing the sparkle in her eye.

We first met Maggie in 1996 on a Boeing 747 bound for Seattle, when travelling with our infant son Jacob and my husband Mike.  She was always drawn to babies, and as we struck up conversation, she asked if she could hold him and he was greatly entertained by her attentions.  We soon found common ground: Maggie discovered that Mike and I were in a similar position to her and Bob all those years ago, coming to work at Boeing at Renton. She could relate to us travelling out there, not knowing anyone.

After the flight, she called us up and invited us for supper and our friendship with Maggie and her lovely family began. Maggie welcomed us into the family and made a great difference to our lives in Seattle, inviting us to many dinners – she was a wonderful cook - showing us the best supermarkets, recommending local landmarks and restaurants and generally treating us like an extension of the family.  I remember being so impressed with her lovely vegetable garden (particularly her wonderful cauliflowers – I had never met anyone who grew their own cauliflowers before) and her green fingers in general.

After our two years in Seattle we returned to England and stayed in touch with Maggie; we would talk on the phone at Christmas and Thanksgiving and she used to send exciting parcels for the children!  We stayed with her, Bob and Ian when we returned to visit Seattle in 2003. Maggie and Bob also visited us on more than one occasion in England at our home in the New Forest and we later met her in Bristol for the day and went to the city museum with the children. 

We will always remember Maggie and Bob for the kindness and generosity they showed us. Maggie was a warm and wise lady, lively yet sensitive with a lovely smile. She enriched our lives and we will always remember her fondly.


Auntie  Margaret, always a big smile and  lots of hugs. You have left such a big hole,which can't be filled. Thankyou for all your support and king words whilst loosing my dad 4  years ago. Will always remember  your visits and excitement it brought . Very proud to have called you my aunt in seattle.  You may have left us,but what good memories we have. R.I.P xxx

Auntie Maggie will sadly be missed and in my thoughts from her Niece.

Aunt Maggie will always be in my mind the globe trotter. 

From St George, Bristol to Seattle, WA countless times (many on her own) she never failed to remember her home and family both sides of the pond.

A fearless lady who will be sadly missed and in my eyes an inspiring role model for her Great nieces in a modern world. 

I hope she is now setting about organising Upstairs … R.I.P xx
