

Marie Florence Timperio Benedict, 76, of Bellevue, passed away from cancer on Thursday, September 25, 2014. She is preceded in death by her late husband of 33 years Douglas A. Benedict. She is survived by a daughter, Lynn M. Haller, her husband Randy & grandson Matthew of Bellevue; a son Rodney D. Benedict and grandson Jake of Bellevue; Aunt Anne Hodges of Bellevue and numerous other relatives in the area.
Marie was very active in the Masonic Family which included Jobs Daughters, Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile Temple # 1 and was a founding member of the Ibis Club # 13. She was extremely supportive of DeMolay and Nile Shrine.
Being of Italian heritage, Marie loved to cook and bake especially at the holidays. Her grandsons, Matthew and Jake loved her Reece Cup cookies the best. She was also known for decorating for every holiday and at Christmas she had a Christmas tree in every room of her house.
Marie was a super fan of her two grandsons Mathew and Jake and tried to attend as many baseball games as possible.
Marie loved to crochet and knit and give her beautiful creations away as gifts. She passed this talent on to many by teaching them her skills. She loved to make lap blankets that she donated to the Shrine Hospital.
She had a love of arts, crafts and music. She loved to play cards and was an amazing canasta player. She played the piano, organ and accordion and sang in many choirs during her lifetime.
Those who have had the privilege of knowing Marie will remember her love of family, life, food and her unfailing faith.
