Marion, known to all as “Mickey” or “Baba,” left with us her beautiful smile, loving kind heart, impeccable style, clever wit, and razor-sharp mind.
Mickey graduated from the University of Washington in 1948 and met her lifetime love and soulmate George while there. She was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. George was a Sigma Chi fraternity member. Following university, the two moved to Los Angeles for a period as George attended USC Law School and worked in journalism.
Together they raised three children on Mercer Island, Washington, and for a time in Phoenix, Arizona.
They loved to travel and crossed the globe making friends wherever they went, teaching us all how to live, love and be loved. She had a remarkable ability to create meaningful connections with total strangers within a very short period of time.
Additionally, Mickey and George established a non-profit foundation for the benefit of children with special needs.
Mickey embodied positive thinking and kindness. She had an energy and passion for life, which included gourmet cooking and entertaining. Even the smallest occasion would become a ‘festive theme party’.
Baba will be sorely missed and forever remembered by daughter Laura Kilkelly (husband Joe), son Michael Wilson (wife Lesley), and daughter Nancy Wilson. Her loving grandchildren include James McKenna, Jordan McKenna, Sean Wilson, John Paul Kilkelly, Patrick Kilkelly (wife Alex), and Megan Donnelly.
We feel blessed that Baba was able to feel the kicking of her first great grandchild to be born to Alex and Pat this coming August.
Dearest Mickey, sweetest mother, wife, grandma, friend. “Until we eat again.” We love you.
