It’s a weird feeling when someone from your childhood passes away because Michael exists in my mind as a young boy in the classroom smiling and making us laugh and smile too. I always thought it was so cool he could make a clapping sound with one hand so I remember him doing that proudly and joyfully when we asked him to do it in class. I wish peace for his family, his mom and sisters in particular who were a great support system for him. I wish I got to meet him again as a man. Rest in peace dear friend.

I hate that I don’t have any pictures of Michael and I. Bike Mike and I worked side by side every day for a few months this summer. We worked late Friday nights together, played video games together, ate lunch together, drank coffee together, and talked about life. The type of work friend you cross your fingers for at every new job. There wasn’t a day I wasn’t glad to see that big Sasquatch walk in the door and laugh with him. We have been working in different buildings for the last few months, but every time he came over to my building he would go out of his way to find me and chat. One of the kindest souls I’ve ever had the pleasure of spending time with. Love you and miss you Michael.

I started working at Amazon Kuiper mid September & he was the first person to help me figure things out. We had a couple of lunches together and he gave me confidence that I needed at the time. He would always say his favorite part of the day was going home to his wife. Thank you Hester

My brother the GREATEST memory of all is when we went to rendezvous with the church and you had three different tan lines which literally look like Neapolitan. I tell everyone this because I've never seen anything like this. Lol your hands/wrist Was tan because it was always seeing sunlight(The chocolate). And then you ended up, pulling your sleeves up halfway through the trip and ended up getting a pink sunburnt(The strawberry ice cream). Once you threw the tank top on your arm was Literally, Neapolitan, strawberry chocolate and vanilla. Won't ever forget this. I love you bro.

I was blessed to have worked with Michael Hester at Amazon Kuiper in both Redmond and Kirkland.  He made things happen and lead the test and verification of multiple telemetry systems that will soon be in space.  He looked forward to seeing his wife after work everyday and we had hoped to get together after work in the near future.  May God Bless Michael and His Wife Angela  and my deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.
