Patricia grew up in Stoughton, Massachusetts with her sisters Roberta, Florence, and her brothers Alfred and William. Patricia met her husband, Judson Virden, while working at Factory Mutual. The two shared a love that spanned decades, and together they began their life journey, moving first to Michigan and eventually settling in Bellevue, Washington, where they raised their four children.
Known fondly by those around her as Pat or Patty, she cultivated a life rooted in faith, music, and service. Patricia was a devoted member of the St. Madeleine Sophie Parish, where her beautiful voice could often be heard in the choir. Her dedication extended beyond music — she also worked at the church as a secretary, forming lasting bonds with the parish community.
In addition to her work at the parish, Patricia also held a position at a Seattle law firm, where her warmth, professionalism, and grace left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike.
Patricia’s legacy is one of kindness, resilience, and deep devotion to her family. She had a gentle strength and a heart that made everyone feel welcome and loved. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and open arms — a reflection of the woman she was.
She is survived by her four children, Judson W. Virden, Elaine M. Virden, Marybeth Virden, and John S. Virden and spouses Mary Kay Virden, Ray Spikes, Don Houghton, and Brinda Virden, and a growing family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will continue to carry forward the lessons of love and compassion she instilled in all of them.
A memorial service for Patricia will be held at St. Madeleine Sophie Parish, where she worshipped and served for many years. May 16th at 11:00AM. Located at 4400 130th Pl Bellevue, WA.
