Philip Perdichizzi of Bellevue, WA died April 11, 2018 in Snoqualmie, WA. He was 84.
Mr. Perdichizzi was born March 13, 1934 in Newark, NJ. He served in the army and married Jeanne Louise McMahan July 31, 1965 in Seattle. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1955. Mr. Perdichizzi was an engineer his entire professional career with the firm Tippetts-Abbett-McCarthy-Stratton. He was the Pacific Northwest Manager of the firm’s Western Regional office from 1971 through 1995, retiring after more than forty years of service. He was admitted as a General Partner in 1981, and to it’s successor company as a Corporate Officer and Director in 1987. As a principal, his work involved him in the firm’s domestic and international business. His most notable project was participation in the design of the Port of Anchorage. The Port, the only usable marine terminal left in south central Alaska after the 1964 earthquake, was back in service within 36 hours. In 1976, the American Consulting Engineers Council voted the design of the Port of Anchorage the “Outstanding Civil Engineering Project in the United States” and awarded TAMS the Grand Conceptor Award, its highest honor to a member of the engineering profession.
Mr. Perdichizzi was a Fellow and past Executive Board Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Seattle Section; a past President of the Seattle Engineer’s Club, a member of the Consulting Engineers Council of Washington, and a member of the Finance Committee of the International Bridge, Tunnel, and Turnpike Association. He was a licensed Professional Engineer in thirteen states and the Territory of Guam.
He enjoyed his retirement years with his family, children, and grandchildren, loved working on his ’60 Chevy, and enjoyed following the Seahawks and Mariners.
He was preceded in death by Jeanne, his loving wife of 45 years. Survivors include his daughter, Lianne Dillon, and her three sons, Connor, Nathan, and Zachary; daughter, AnnMarie Perdichizzi and her husband Mark Franks, and their daughter, Sophia; his son, Peter Perdichizzi and his wife Linda and their two sons, Dominic and Anthony; his son, Drew Perdichizzi, and his sisters, Annette Good and Lucy Perdichizzi.
Services were held Saturday May 5, 2018 at Sunset Hills Funeral Home in Bellevue, WA.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
