Robert Paul Guilbeault Sr.

Robert (Bob) Paul Guilbeault Sr. died on 28 July 2026 at 90 years old. Bob is survived by his wife Mary Sue. They enjoyed 64 years of marriage. Included are two sons, Robert P. (Bo) Guilbeault (Lorri), Michael W. Guilbeault (Karen), daughter, Stephanie A. Riley (James). Also included are three grandsons, Zackory Guilbeault (Karla), Riley Guilbeault (Cat), Alec James (AJ) Riley and three granddaughters, Courtney Guilbeault, Amber Riley, and Hannah Throckmorton (Calvin). Two great grandchildren, Luke Guilbeault and Cameron (Cami) Throckmorton.

Bob had three brothers, Donald, Henry (Hank), Richard and two sisters, Claire Loranger and JoAnn Ambroult; as well as a fourth grandson, Conrad Guilbeault, that preceded Bob's passing.

Bob was born on 24 October 1935 in Acushnet, Massachusetts, the son of Henry (Ty) and Ernestine Guilbeault. He was raised on a small dairy farm in Acushnet. On that farm he was taught the timeless core values of hard work, respect, self-sufficiency, integrity, care for animals, and the Christian-way of life. Bob made those values a significant part of his life, with his family, and those that knew him.

After completing his studies at New Bedford Tech in mid-June 1956 Bob received his draft notice; but decided to enlist in the U.S. Army Reserves. His Active Duty was from 1956 to 1958 primarily at Fort Leonard Wood 18th Engineer Brigade. The balance of his Reserve Commitment was deferred due to his involvement in a high-priority missile project. Bob was honorably discharged in 1962.

Bob spent his entire distinguished career 50+ years (1959 - 2010) career in the electrical construction industry. He was known for being smart, clever, hard working with a can-do spirit. Over the years, responsibilities and experience rapidly progressed from basic engineering to high level executive positions. He served on a vast spectrum of distinguished projects throughout the United States while employed with two of the world's largest electrical contractors.

In 1980, Bob joined the executive ranks of Holmes Electric Company of Kent, Washington and helped lead it to be one of the largest and highly respected design + build electrical firms in the Pacific Northwest. Bob worked tirelessly to improve the electrical industry through seminars, expositions, and fellowship. In 1988, the Electric League of the Pacific Northwest recognized his efforts with the 1988 Man of the Year Award. Bob retired in 2010.

Throughout his life Bob was a sports enthusiast. Baseball was his favorite sport, having played twilight CYO League and semi-Pro until full-time job interference reduced his performance. His love of baseball was demonstrated while he was the Lions Club Little League Commissioner in Millbrae, California and a manager + coach for Bo and Mike's teams until they reached high school age. Bob also enjoyed bird hunting, golf, snow + water skiing, bowling, and dancing. Attending Stef's dance recitals created many enjoyable moments.

Upon arrival in the Pacific Northwest, power boat yachting became his favorite pastime. Residing in Newport Shores with boat moorage made it easy as a favorite family summertime on the lake and Salish Sea. Bob served on the Board and as Commodore of the Newport Yacht Club. Years later Bob joined the Seattle Yacht Club where he served on many committees, as a Board Trustee, and achieved Life Member Status. He also was Secretary of the Seattle Yacht Club Foundation.

Bob and his family are parishioners of St. Madeliene Sophie Catholic Church since 1977. A memorial mass will be held there on Thursday, 10 September 2026 at 11:00 AM, 4400 130th Pl SE, Bellevue, Washington 98006. A private family graveside service with military honors will take place on Friday, 11 September 2026 at 12:30 PM at Sunset Hills Memorial Park, 1575 145th Pl SE, Bellevue Washington 98007.

Bob’s light will carry on within all the lives he touched during his long and charismatic life as a husband, parent, grandparent, friend, co-worker, and mentor.
