

Rose served in the British Army as a Kine Theodolite Operator attached to the School of Anti-Aircraft Artillery for 4.5 years, then took a job as a secretary. She traveled extensively all over Europe. In 1956 Rose married the love of her life Frederick W. Zappert, and moved to Toronto. Fred took an engineering job and she took a job as a stenographer. They then moved to Detroit in 1957 and then to Seattle in 1961 as Fred took a job with Boeing. Rose lived in Bellevue for the remainder of life. She travelled throughout the U.S., back to England every couple years, Australia, New Zealand, and many other countries. She attended Bellevue Community College and earned her A.A.
She was affiliated with the Children’s Orthopedic Hospital, West Lake Sammamish Garden Club, the Welsh Club, Britannia Club, Bellevue Botanical Gardens and Skogsblomman Lodge.
Proceeded in death by her husband in 1990, Rose leaves behind her son, Michael Zappert (Kelli) of Bellevue; daughter Lisa Bollman-Streich (Eric) of Bellevue; and two grandchildren Chelsea Bollman and Justin Streich.
Rose loved music, gardening, crossword puzzles, and most of all her family. She will be deeply missed.

Graveside service will be held Monday, June 16, 2014 at Sunset Memorial at 10:30am with celebration to follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Bellevue Botanical Gardens.
