She married Dale F. Swaffield, her high school sweetheart, January 18, 1962. They had two children, David Ray and Shellie Marie. Dale died in 1985, Shellie in 2010, and David in 2023.
Shirley worked as a bookkeeper earlier in life, then for dry cleaners in Kirkland and later in Redmond.
She enjoyed singing (especially Patsy Cline songs), playing the accordion and the ukulele, and enjoyed traveling in their camping trailer. She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Redmond Eagles, and she liked her brewski.
Preceding her in death were her parents, sister Louise Susanne Evans (passed in 2006) and her niece Eugenia M. Loftus (passed in 2018). She is survived by a brother, Richard Allan Recor (Verna) and their three children, Sarah C. Huizingh (Ryan). Michael A. Recor (Bianca), and Daniel E. Recor, and ten grandchildren (grandniece and grandnephews), all in Colorado. Also a grandniece Courtney S. Lee, in Washington.
