A renowned carpenter and master builder, Steve was a true jack-of-all-trades who could fix or build anything he put his mind to. For the last dozen years of his life, he worked almost exclusively for M & S Properties Corporation. During this time, he formed a deep bond with owner Mori Borumand and the Borumand family, who became a second family to him. Despite his busy professional life, Steve was famously generous with his skills, always finding the time to help any family member with home repairs or projects.
Stephen’s adventurous spirit once led him to Hawaii, where he spent several wonderful years with his then-wife, Toni. Though they divorced decades ago, they remained the fastest of friends until the very end.
Family gatherings were the highlight of Steve’s world. He will be especially missed at dinner occasions at the home of his brother Jack and sister-in-law Lydia. Steve was never shy about his appreciation for their hospitality, unabashedly declaring every meal Lydia prepared—with Jack’s able assistance—as the greatest he had ever eaten.
Steve was preceded in death by his brother, John, and his wife, Peggy. He is survived by his loving siblings: Mike (Alba), Barb, Jim (Marilu), Phil, Jack (Lydia), and Kerri (Cary). He also leaves behind a large, devoted family of nieces and nephews who will miss his expertise, his humor, and his big heart.
A private family service will be held later this year.
