Suzanne Marie Lewis was born September 20, 1931 at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. She attended Christ the King school in the Buckhead section of Atlanta and graduated from Ashley Hall High School in Charleston, South Carolina. She attended and graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1952 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
In 1955 she married Paul G O’Connor, a naval officer from Butte, MT and they traveled to Belgium where he was attached to NATO.
They had two sons, Michael E O’Connor, born 2/20/1958 (Darcy) and Mark L O’Connor, born 4/24/1963 (Lummi).
Paul and Suzanne both attended Florida State University graduate school where Paul got a Masters degree in Economics and Suzanne studied Art Education.
They moved to Seattle, WA in 1977 where Suzanne was active in the art scene. She became chairman of the Bellevue Arts Commission and was a signature member of the Northwest Watercolor Society, the National Watercolor Society in Los Angeles, CA and the American Watercolor Society in New York, NY. She studied under Deanne Lemley in Redmond, WA and won numerous art awards and was exhibited throughout the United States. She will be missed.
