Tanny Shoukhan Lau born to Shek Hung and Mi Song Lau on July 2, 1959 in Hong Kong. Family immigrated to Seattle on June of 1971 and celebrated Tanny’s 12th birthday on US soil. Tanny graduated from Rainier Beach High in 1977, attended Highline Community College earning associates degree and she started working for Trans American in California soon after she was out of college. She left Trans American and started to work for American Airlines.
While she was in Los Angeles she made many friends at her church where she was attending and befriended many co-workers. In 1994 she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, received treatment and cancer was in remission. In year 1999 she moved back home to Seattle, still working for American Airlines.
Although she didn’t travel around the world, she experienced foods from around the world. Her friends and family will tell you she loved to cook and taste different ethnic dishes; she always tried to recreate what she tasted. Tanny had a big heart and that is why every time she cooked for her friends or families she made huge amounts of food that would last for days, ask anyone who has eaten with Tanny, they will testify to that. She was always willing to help and give support to whoever was in need. She also enjoyed crafts, cross stitching and her collection of Swarovski crystals, loved experiencing new things. Her foremost love is our savior Jesus Christ; she was happy to share the stories of the Bible and share the words of Christ and loved the challenge of converting anyone she can.
Tanny is survived by her parents, Shek Hung and Mi Song. Brothers: Tony, his wife Jenny and their children Lauren, Justin and Tiffany; Jimmy, his wife Carmen and their children Ashley and Shannon
