Tom Tien-Shui Wang, 84, of Bellevue, Washington passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025. Born in Taipei, Taiwan, he was the sixth son of twelve children to loving and hard-working parents. Tom immigrated to the United States, initially to San Francisco, California, before enrolling in graduate studies in agricultural economics at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington.
Tom was an athlete all his life, playing soccer and baseball through college in Taiwan. He was an avid golfer, who spent much of his free time at Glendale Country Club in Bellevue, where he was a member for 35 years. He also took up skiing during his many trips to Eastern Washington for business. He built his own company, exporting mainly Washington produce, especially apples, to Taiwan.
Tom was a loving husband to Elaine, whom he met at Washington State University during international student move-in day. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in September. He was a dedicated father to Eileen, attentive father-in-law to Jeff, and devoted grandfather to their children. He is remembered as a jovial, kind, and caring brother, uncle, cousin, and friend by so many. We will all miss him dearly.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for January 2026 with details forthcoming. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Fred Hutch Cancer Center directed towards the areas of Cancer prevention and early detection or Cancer research. Alternatively, please consider donations to Washington State University's International Student Scholarship Fund, under International Programs.
