

Wilson Erwin was born July 25th, 1927 to Wilson and Viola Erwin of Nebraska City, Nebraska. He was the fourth of five children. Growing up his nickname was Junior. He graduated from Nebraska City High School in 1944, where he played football, basketball and baseball. He married his high school sweetheart Bettie Jo Simpson August 6th, 1944. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1944 (WWII) and was a lithographer printing top secret code books. He remained in the Naval Reserves and was called to service for the Korean War. He worked in printing and graphics his entire working career. He was married to Bettie 46 years until her passing on April 4th, 1991. He is survived by his son Jeffrey Erwin and his daughter in law Doris Erwin, his two grandsons Corey Erwin and Christopher Erwin, Corey’s wife Geniva Erwin, and his two great grandsons Avery and Jaxon Erwin. Wil and family resided the Eastgate neighborhood of Bellevue over 60 years. Wil loved Steelhead and Salmon fishing at Westport. He played golf at Mount SI golf course over 50 years and has many friends there. He could often be found at the counter of Little John’s Restaurant with Ken, Tug, Harvey, and numerous other friends. Wilson loved sports his entire life. He attended numerous Husky, Sonic and Mariner games. He was a diehard fan of them all. He was a very positive person and a true gentleman always. He loved people and was very social. He will be greatly missed.
