Adrianna Van Wyk was the daughter of Peter and Hattie (Van Oort) Zevenbergen. She was born on August 21, 1915 on a farm by Carnes, Iowa and attended a rural school. She moved to LeMars, Iowa in 1935 with her parents.
She was united in marriage to Gilbert Van Wyk on June 2, 1938 at the home of Rev. Leroy Nattress. They lived and worked on a farm near Newkirk, Iowa until 1956 when they moved to Bellflower, California with their two children.
Gilbert and Adrianna celebrated 67 years of marriage on June 2, 2005.
Adrianna's dedication to her family and her love of God is well known by all. She was fun loving and enjoyed watching her favorite sports teams the LA Lakers and Clippers She and Gilbert also loved salmon fishing in Crescent City, California, traveling with friends and playing cards and tile rummy.
She is survived by her son Arie Mitchell (Pat) Van Wyk, daughter Greta (Don) Corcoran; grandchildren, John (Kathy) Corcoran, Valerie Van Wyk, Amy Gray, Matt (Anya) Corcoran, Brian Van Wyk, six great-grandchildren Lada Corcoran, Jessa Corcoran, Jack Gray, Adrianna Corcoran, Ava Gray, and Mila Corcoran, sister-in-law Leola Te Grotenhuis, and brother-in-law Rodney Vellinga.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert; her parents; and her brothers Julius, Bob, and Kenneth.
Her favorite Bible passages were Psalm 27:1 and John 3: 16-17.
Her favorite hymns were "Amazing Grace", "In the Garden" and "I'd Rather Have Jesus".
Adrianna was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. Her life was an inspiration to us and her guidance and love will be with us forever.
Psalm 27:1: "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?"
