Me and my family were blessed to have Dorothy Nicholson as a grandma!I remember her cards and letters, her hugs, her smile, and her phone calls that always ended with, "give everyone a kiss for me." She had great a listening ear and just wanted me to know, to never give up, and always trust God and work hard. My grandma always told me to trust Jesus because she knew I was a Christian and that always blessed me-She must have known that Jesus definitely works in our lives', even though life has been hard and down-right cruel sometimes. However, despite the rough times, I will NEVER forget how strong (mentally, emotionally, physically) my grandma was and she set the bar high for me (as did my Mom, her daughter) and giving up was never an option. I got that from my grandma Dottie! She is my inspiration, and I am so glad that she accepted Jesus in heart 8 days before she took her last breath, and now she gets to really see how amazing Jesus is first-hand! My grandma is so beautiful inside and out and I love her so much, as do my 3 kids. Grandma loved shopping (smartly, not frivolously), eating, make-up, holidays (especially Christmas). See you soon grandma, in heaven...Love, Joann

I loved how my grandma came to all my events: birthdays, graduation, prom, wedding, unforgettable family gettogethers, school and church activities. I will never forget that her presence was valued and she will be greatly missed. She showed her love and care in unique ways mostly through gifts. It's the thoughtfulness she had that we know she was thinking of us while shopping.
