Earl attended grade school and continued on to graduate from Central High School in Natchitoches, Louisiana. There he was THE STAR football player, which explains his love for the sport. After high school, Earl attended welding school, but decided to head to California to find work. As a young man, Earl moved in with his uncle George and Aunt Nadine. They took really good care of him by allowing him to stay with them until he was able to afford his own apartment. He had a lot of respect for them. Soon after, he met Mary Harris, and later married on December 3, 1961. Two years later they were blessed with their first child Kevin Earl, then five years later Karen Evette was born. Earl had a passion for sports, and dedicated his spare time coaching Little League Baseball at Victoria Park in Carson, California. He took pleasure in encouraging young boys to be all they can be in whatever sport they chose to play.
Earl was a hardworking man. For 18 years he worked for Firestone Tire Company until they relocated back East. He soon found a receiving position at National Sanitary Supply Company in Los Angeles, California. He also had a part time position with the Los Angeles Times. He retired from both jobs after 13 years. During his retirement, Earl enjoyed taking walks around the neighborhood, watching old westerns, and every sport you can think of. It didn’t matter to him, he found them all entertaining. Earl rededicated his life to the Lord when he joined Tower of Faith Evangelistic Church in Compton, California. In his down time he would listen to the Bible on tape, that was very comforting to him.
