Frank Dennis Pechar

Dennis was born Frank Dennis Pechar on November 12, 1950 in Kansas City, Missouri to George and Francis Regina Pechar . After graduating from Shawnee Mission South High School in 1969, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in September of 1971 and was honorably discharged in June of 1973. He then attended and graduated from Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma in 1977 with a degree in Business Administration. In 1980, he married Paula Sue Bruemmer who was his wife for the next 34 years. They moved from Oklahoma to California in the summer of 1978 and lived in Downey before settling in Norwalk. Together, they had 3 children, Michael Dennis, Michelle Denise and Kenneth George. Following a forced early retirement from a successful career as a Credit Manager, Dennis became a stay at home dad and instrumental in raising his three children. Dennis was the cook in the family and was famous for his macaroni and cheese among other things. Aside from numerous get togethers with friends, the Norwalk house became known throughout the neighborhood for its Halloween festivities and for hosting an annual Renaissance Faire called Funco Faire which even included building a small village in the backyard. Dennis and Paula celebrated the marriage of their daughter Michelle, to Ian Morris in 2007 and their oldest son Michael, to Dana Van Dyk in 2008. On September 11th, 2011, Dennis and Paula became proud grandparents of twin boys, Zachary Holden and Nathan Riley, born to Michael and Dana.

Throughout his life he adored classic rock including Pink Floyd and was thrilled to get front row seats at the Pink Floyd concert at the Rose Bowl. He had a dry wit and quirky sarcasm that was appreciated by all who knew him and will be deeply missed. Dennis is survived by his wife Paula, his children, Michael, Michelle and Kenny, and grandchildren Zachary and Nathan. He is predeceased by his father, mother, and brother, George Michael "Mike" and sister, Patricia Buel.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Sunday, August 24, 2014
