First son born to Gabriel and Carolina Perez. He was the eldest brother to Daniel and Ricardo Perez.
Everyone who knew Gabby would know his fondest memories were of growing up in Maywood. Gabby had very vivid memories and would give in detail any event that took place in his childhood when he lived in Maywood. Gabby could tell you the date, the time, who was there, what was happening, all the way down to who was wearing what on that very day. Gabby could remember all good and bad things about his brothers, cousins, aunts, uncles, mom and dad. He would not let you forget a thing. One thing about his memory...... it never skipped a beat! In his adolescence he was very active playing: basketball, baseball, and football with his brothers and neighborhood friends. Playing outside from noon til dusk or until hearing Dads very distinct high pitched whistle letting us boys know it was time to come in and have dinner.
Gabby attended Heliotrope Elementary school, Nimitz Jr. high school and graduated from Bell High school in 1984. Gabby's favorite cousin who he confided in and loved talking too was Oscar Rosales. Gabby always looked after his two younger brothers always concerned for their well being. Gabby in his adult years explored living in various locations, moving from one place to the next. Gabby's unique personality made him so very special. He was loving, thoughtful, kindhearted and always seen the good in others, an obvious trait he inherited from his mother.
Gabby loved.... music, especially rock! His high school pee-chee folders were graffitied with rock bands such as Van Halen, The Doors, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and oh, how he loved Rush! Gabby was loved by so many and he had so many friends. He was referred to as a "Big Loving Teddy Bear" by his nurses and room mates.
Gabby is survived by his younger brothers Daniel and Ricardo Perez. Nieces: Danielle and Alyssa Perez and Nephews: Ricardo Jr. and Alexander Gabriel Perez. Gabby.....Big Brother....you will be missed dearly. You are forever loved and will forever be in our hearts. WE LOVE YOU!
