Joan E. Rascon, age 97, passed away Thursday afternoon on November 7, 2019 in Ventura, Ca. She was born on March 25, 1922 in Artesia Ca, to her mother Guadalupe and her father Pedro. In the year of 1940, she graduated from Excelsior Highschool in Norwalk. Shortly after she got married to Robert V. Rascon in 1950, and in 1955 they moved to Bellflower where she would be living for the next 60 years. During that time she was a cross guard, and a secretary.
Although she had no children of her own, she mothered many. Her grandkids were loved and spoiled very much. She enjoyed things like sewing, baking, and making crafts. She paid attention to the very detail, and was a perfectionist at it. Her signature cookies were persimmon cookies no one could turn down. Every night at 6 she'd watch her favorite show family feud and read the Peoples magazine to sleep. Yes she really did love keeping up with the Royal family.
But most of all she loved the quality time with her family and friends. Joan had a really big heart, and was very affectionate, always looking for ways to help. She was so empathetic you could tell her anything. Now she has left her family with countless memories, and will be missed very much. It was a blessing that she lived as long as she did, but her journey still hasn't ended.(Acts 24:14, Psalm 37:29) Her loved ones look forward to seeing her again in a new paradise. Until then may she rest in a peaceful sleep.(Psalm146:4, John11:11,13, 14)
