Margaret Chichester was born on 12 March 1940 in Dallas, Texas to Ray and Elizabeth Hodgson.
She graduated from Dorsey High School in the class of 1958. After graduation she attended Biola University.
Since her father worked as a cost estimator for North American Aviation, Margaret soon joined North American Aviation as a secretary-typist. Other aerospace employment followed including a position with TRW in Redondo Beach, California.
In 1963 she took a job as personal assistant and domestic to Peggy Hastings of Los Angeles Margaret was assigned various responsibilities with the Hastings which included duties at a residence in Sun Valley, Idaho. It was here she described one event as: “meeting the love of my life.”
During the 1963 annual rodeo in Sun Valley, she met Lt. David Chichester, then stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base. A courtship ensued after she returned to Los Angeles, with the couple marrying in Los Angeles on February 25, 1964. Mountain Home, Idaho was their home until her husband’s active-duty service ended in 1965.
Upon returning to Southern California, they took up residency in a Redondo Beach apartment, buying their first home there the following year. Ten years later they relocated to Cerritos, California which became their home until the present.
During time until her death Margaret stayed busy working in various office positions but did find time to attend classes and become a certified phlebotomist in the medical field.
Margaret’s grand pursuit in life most certainly was scuba diving as a member of the California Wreck Divers Inc. club for more than two decades. She enjoyed dives in the Pacific, Atlantic, Hawaiian, and Caribbean waters.
Margaret is survived by her husband, David; daughter, Wendy Elizabeth of Buena Park; son, Scot David of Lakewood; daughter-in-law, Chelsea Chichester of Lakewood; grandsons, Preston and Maison Chichester of Lakewood ; brother, Robert and nephew Danny Hodgson of Desert Hot Springs; niece Christi Clarkson of La Canada; and nephew Josh Hodgson of Ladera Ranch.
On the nineteenth of April 2022 Margaret received a call for going home to meet the waiting arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
