Rose was my neighbor in the Lakewood condo complex for 11 years until 2020. She was the first, friendly, neighbor to introduce herself to me when I first moved in - we lived on the same condo level. I enjoyed listening to her many stories on various subjects. Especially when she talked about Alamosa, Colorado. She mentioned that she lived during a period in history when restaurants had posted signs saying "No Indians, Mexicans, or Dogs” allowed inside the diners. Personally, I found her experiences to be somewhat interesting because they reflect a different period in history. I met her daughter "Naty" a couple of times. Rose shared a lot about her family (children & siblings). But overall, Rose left me in awe because she worked most of her life in the nursing field and somehow managed to raise eight children. Rose and I were neighborly with each other. For example, I baked her an upside-down pineapple cake that she liked very much. And I recall an incident when I offered her some beef tamales during the holidays - she gladly accepted them. But she called the next day to tell me she loved the home-made tamales, then casually added that she could no longer accept any more tamales because of her gout condition (I wasn't aware of her gout condition when I gave her the tamales). In retrospect, I thought it was a slightly funny moment; of course she knew all about her gout condition but she was unable to resist the temptation to eat beef tamales. You know, to this day, I still haven't erased the message she left on my voicemail telling me how much she loved the tamales. Every now and then, I play the message and it makes me chuckle. Unfortunately, I moved out of the condo complex in early 2020. The last time I spoke with Rose was November 2020. I could tell she was happy to hear from me. She explained that she was placed in hospice. And her last words to me were that she loved me. I will miss her and of course I love her, too.

My name is Valerie, I am Nicks daughter from New Mexico . I am so sorry for your loss. My dad passed away 12/13/2020. Exactly a month before my aunt  Rose. Although we lived far apart we talked about the family often. I didn't have the heart to tell my dad that his sister was in hospice. May God comfort you all.

Rose was a very special woman to me I can remember over 40 years ago when I was like 4 or 5 going to Hoffs hut and Bob's big boy restaurant almost daily with her and my mother . Memories I will always have of her . I love you rose may you rest in sweet harmony.  I know in my heart you and my mother are once again together having fun in God's kingdom . Until we see each other again I love you ...... Chris kaltvedt 

I will miss you so much. I loved it when you would tell me so many old stories. I know you and mom are back together again.  I now have two angels watching over me. You will forever be in my ❤️
