Brian was born on August 16, 1961, in Toledo, Ohio, to James and Phyllis Flatt. He grew up in Temperance, Michigan, alongside his brothers, Marc (Mary) and Mike (Corinne), and his sister, Sheri (Rick).
After graduating from high school in Temperance, Brian made his way west to California’s Bay Area. It was there that he began building the life that would mean so much to him—starting his family and establishing a successful career in manufacturing management.
Over the years, Brian’s life would take him many places included Texas and Arkansas, but the things that mattered most to him were never measured by where he lived or the work he did. His greatest story was the family he built, the people he loved, and the memories he leaves behind.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, James and Phyllis Flatt; his brother, Marc; and his brother-in-law, Rick.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie “Robin”, and former wives Sharon and Del Rey. He is also survived by his seven children: Mathew; Sheree (Marc); Whitney (Robert); James (Jackie); Alycia (Adam); Rachel; and Chase. Brian’s heart and his definition of family extended far beyond biology. Throughout his life, he opened his heart and embraced Jen, Angelo, Mitchell, John, Tanner, and Marcus as his children.
Brian was also a proud Papa and Uncle to his 14 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. To Brian, family was simply about love, belonging, and the people he chose to call his own.
