Play Tribute Movie

James Green made his last cast on March 15th and succumbed to the stroke that disrupted his fishing trip on March 26, 2021. James was preceded in death by his father and mother, Roy and Pauline Green, his brother Joe, sister Mary Lou, and niece Linda Harp. He was born James Roy Green in Harrison, AR. Aug 20, 1946 where life on the farm was the norm, and hunting and fishing were part of life. Like many of that time, love came early in life for James. He met and married Diana ‘Joyce’ Green in 1967. Seeing an opportunity to provide for his new family, he went to Petit Jean Vocational-Technical School and moved to Bentonville so he could pursue a career in a new field called Information Technology. James spent the bulk of his career at Cooper Communities in various roles in the IT department. Later in life, James joined Bynum Furniture group where he applied his skills to run their IT department, and true to form, he stepped in to run other departments when asked. James and Joyce shared 53 Years of marriage raising two boys, Eric Green, who lives in Texas with his wife Chanin, and Randy Green who lives in Fayetteville. James has two granddaughters Zoe Green and Colby Green who are graduating high school seniors. He also has a great niece, Hayley Harp. James was a listener with a calming ability to provide some clarity to any conversation. You just had to ask. He always expressed more interest in you and he wouldn’t draw attention to himself. While not boisterous, he was a known accomplice of many pranks among his co-workers and family. As mentioned before, James absolutely loved, the outdoors. He outfished most, lived for covey rises and watching bird dogs work. Later in life, fishing was center stage. He instilled that love with his two boys and granddaughters. He was the first to offer a fishing trip, or volunteer to sit in a hunting blind with you. While the focus may have been catching a big fish or looking for a mature buck, he knew the real value was creating memories with his family and friends. For this, we will always be grateful. If you would like to make a donation, we would welcome a donation in James’s name to Helping Hands in Bentonville, AR.

From the beginning, James was a very good and fun person to be around. His greatest accomplishment was attracting Joyce. Uniting 2 wonderful,
committed people....

MAY THE LORD BLESS YOU AND YOURS AND KEEP YOU IN THIS TIME OF SORROW, REMINDING YOU OF TREASURED MEMORIES, AND THE GIFT OF SHARED LOVE. MAY HE INSPIRE YOU WITH THE REFLECTION OF HEAVEN ON EARTH, FROM THE SEEDS AND FLOWERS, TO THE MOUNTAINS, LAKES, SPRINGS, AND FISHING HOLES.

I have fished with James a few times and talked about fishing a lot. It was always a pleasure to fish or speak on the phone, you could really tell that fishing was a true passion of his. I will definitely miss the weekly phone calls after the fishing report comes out. James would always dig for a little extra information that was not added in the report. I always found it to be funny. God speed my friend, we will fish again.
