The kids always wanted to go fishing but James thought fishing was boring. Finally he gave in and took us to a little body of water by Granny and Grandaddy Hawthorne’s house. He baited their poles with a piece of junk “wire” he found. They were so excited, threw their line in and waited. About 10 minutes passed and one of the kids screamed FISH FISH ad pulled his line out of the water. There on the end of that line was a fish about 4 inches long. They removed the fish, laughed, screamed, talked about it and laughed some more. Then they threw that poor tiny little half dead fish back in the water, as James was gathering up the poles etc. James said “Now don’t ever say you haven’t gone fishing before, you even caught a fish. You have fished. Let’s go home😊🤪
