Houston Kane Koenigseder, a lifelong resident of Bentonville, passed away on September 25, 2020. He was born on June 20, 1996 in Rogers, the son of Casey and Kim Koenigseder. He was always known as Kane and will be remembered as a magnificent human being. Loving and selfless to not only his family and friends, but almost everyone. He was a natural athlete and excelled in many sports, but baseball was his passion and he was an all-state catcher at BHS. He played on full scholarships all through college and got his bachelor’s degree at Southern Arkansas University after playing for Connors State College and earning his associate’s. Warner, OK was his second home and he will always be a Cowboy! He excelled in almost everything he did and was recognized for baseball, work, and life achievements, but Kane was humble and loving and many of his family and friends didn’t even know the true level of success he achieved in such a short time. Kane’s survivors include his father, Casey; his siblings, Eleanor and Shepherd; his step family, Trista and Blake; Grandparents, Jim and Diane Koenigseder and Lorie Comer and a huge extended family including many nieces and nephews who he enthusiastically embraced and entertained often. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kimberley, and grandfather, Randy Burt. All are invited to visit with family from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, October 2 at Callison-Lough Funeral Home on Central in Bentonville, preceded by public viewing from 12:00 to 5:00 pm. Kane’s life will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Saturday at the Bentonville Cemetery, which Kane lived beside since the first grade. Please come ready to hear and share stories about this wonderful man.

My husband and I met Kane when he helped us get into a new car a little over a year ago. The process, I thought, would be tough because of the situation we were in-simultaneously buying a new home and having to met certain criteria...I was ready for a headache. But not with Kane. He mad things easy, fun and stress free. When we left that day, we left with not only a new car but a new friend. Kane kept in constant contact with us. Checking in on us as a family, remembering stories we told him...he was an absolutely amazing soul. I have no doubts that he had endless potential in life and would’ve continued doing great things. Kane was one of those rare and special souls that you meet once or twice in a lifetime..if you’re lucky. He was caring, kind, funny and in the short time of knowing him proved to be an amazing guy. This loss is devastating but knowing that Kane is looking over us all now, hopefully provides a little peace to others as it does myself. Rest in Heaven Kane. You will forever be missed!

I met Kane while he was attending Connors State College. He played baseball with my son, Hayden George. Kane came to our house for the weekend and was so kind. He was a good baseball player and I enjoyed cheering for him at the games. So sorry for your loss, praying for his family.

Kane was a great kid from a great family. We enjoyed the wonderful times and cherish the memories of Kane with the Arkansas Scorpions and with Bentonville High, as well as when Troy's Crowder Roughriders played against Kane's Conners State Cowboys. Always smiling! Troy remembers Kane as one of his best teammates and a wonderful person. God Bless your family.

So sorry for your loss.

I had the privilege of coaching Kane in a fall league several years ago. Kane was not only a great baseball player; but a great teammate and mentor to players that didn't have his skill set. Always willing to teach, lead by example, encouraging and full exuberance and joy for the game. Heartbroken, when I heard the news.

I was lucky enough to call Kane a close friend back in high school. I played softball while he played baseball and I cherish all the memories we made together. I swear there wasn’t a single person who didn’t enjoy being around Kane. He was a light in this world! He was caring, dedicated, and best of all, he was one of those people that just made everything better.

I’m praying for your family during this time!
