His life was one of hard work, resourcefulness, and a spirit that could find a way to fix just about anything. He leaves behind a family who will forever cherish his memory, the lessons he taught, the laughter he brought, and the countless ways he made his presence known.
Keven was born on August 6, 1953, in Grundy Center, Iowa, to Beverly Long and Donald Dean Priske. From his early years onward, Keven developed a remarkable ability to work with his hands and a knack for figuring things out. A true jack of all trades, he was a natural handyman who could take on a challenge and find a solution. Whether repairing, building, or lending his skills wherever they were needed, Keven possessed a practical wisdom and determination that made him someone others could count on.
Throughout his working years, Keven traveled across the country while working in the warehouse department for Walmart. His work took him to many places, giving him the opportunity to experience life beyond his own hometown while building a career through dedication and perseverance. No matter where life led him, Keven carried with him the resourcefulness and hardworking nature that were such a defining part of who he was.
Beyond his work and many talents, Keven had a special passion for racing and trains. These interests brought him joy and reflected the things that captured his attention and imagination. Whether enjoying the excitement of racing or the enduring fascination of trains, Keven knew what he liked and embraced the things that made life enjoyable.
Of course, no remembrance of Keven would be complete without mentioning the nicknames that became part of his legacy. Affectionately known as “PeePaw,” “Bully,” and “Crabby Patty,” Keven earned these names in his own unmistakable way. Each nickname carried a little piece of his personality and the familiar affection shared by those who knew him best. They are reminders that the people we love are remembered not only for the big moments in life, but also for the little quirks, the inside jokes, and the everyday interactions that become treasured memories over time.
Keven’s life was woven into the lives of those he loved, and his memory will continue through the family he leaves behind. Though his earthly journey has come to an end, the stories, laughter, and moments shared with him will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His presence will be missed, but the mark he made on his family will not be forgotten.
Keven was preceded in death by his parents, Beverly Long and Donald Dean Priske.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dicki Priske; his three sons, Russell (Elizabeth) Priske, Nathan (Nancy) Scheffler, and Zach (Betsy) Scheffler; his daughter, Lacey Luster; his sister Valerie Schmitt (Rod); and his eleven beloved grandchildren, who will forever hold a special place in his legacy.
As his family and friends say their earthly goodbyes, they do so with gratitude for the years they were blessed to share with Keven. May they find comfort in their memories, strength in one another, and peace in the hope of a heavenly reunion. Though he has departed this world, the love he gave and the memories he leaves behind will continue to live on in the hearts of those who call him husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
