It's hard to come up with words for a time like this when someone has given their life protecting our own. I did not know Officer Apple well, but I worked at Haul Supply in Garfield and he was a regular customer of ours. Always had a smile on his face and was upbeat. Although I could not attend the funeral I was able to take part as part of the observers of the procession and it brought tears to my eyes as nearly 300 police vehicles made their way by, especially seeing ones from all parts of the state and even Missouri, Oklahoma & Texas. I know that means a lot to the family and Law Enforcement colleagues of Officer Apple. I also want to express my appreciation of the NWA community for taking time to show their support. It's good to know that the community still rallies together at a time like this. Love and prayers to the family.

I’ve known Kevin for many years and had the joy of planning many of his vacations. He loved to go Mexico and the Caribbean and loved all inclusive resorts. He always had a smile on his face and his laugh was infectious. I heard from him on June 1 and he was wanting to plan his next adventure. He always called me “young lady” even though I was a few years older than him. My heart aches for his family, his friends and his fellow officers. Fly high my friend, until we meet again.

It is with deepest sympathy we stand in unity beside the Apple family as they walk this tragic path. Yet, we are confident that to be absent from the body is to be present with our great Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8) Soar high brother!
