February 3, 1937 – May 18, 2019
Lotis Lou Huchison, 82, passed away on May 18, 2019 in Rogers. She was born in Tulare, California. She and her twin sister, Leota were born prematurely on February 3, 1937, to the late Cleo and Viva (Lawson) Hutchison. They were just over 2 lbs and not expected to survive into adulthood. But they beat the odds and lived quite actively. We know when and where Lotis was born, but very little known about her home life. She became the second cook in the family, learned how to drive. She owned and operated a nursery in town and went shopping every Friday evening for supplies. She ran this nursery for several years caring for many children in the area. Lotis was adventurous and had many funny moments throughout her life. One of those moments was when our pet goat got out and she tracked it to Sherwood Forest, put the goat in the passenger seat and drove it home. Onlookers were shocked to see a goat in the passenger seat of the car. She would also drive her mother and twin sister, Loeta, to church every Sunday. She was a devoted family member, great sister and wonderful friend. Lotis was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Lois Lee Hutchison. She is survived by her sister, Phyllis, close family friend, Pat Lee and her niece, Barbara.
