Lynda Welch, a loving wife, mother, and sister and the matriarch of the Welch family, died on Tuesday at Bentonville’s Circle of Life Hospice. She was 72. Lynda was born in Dumas, Arkansas on April 20, 1946, to Clifford and Wilma Pennington. She later met the love of her life, Jerry Welch in 1965. After one year, they were happily married and remained married until her death 52 years later. Proof that some fairy tales are real. To Lynda, her family was everything. She raised three children, Anthony, Tim, and Christina Welch. In addition to her children, Lynda had nine grandchildren, Chastity, Jeremy, Christin, Justin, Stephen, Breanna, Tyler, Hannah, and Lyndsey in addition to nine more great-grandchildren. She dedicated her life to raising her children, and helping raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. It would be an understatement to say that she profoundly impacted their lives. All of her children and grandchildren knew they could depend on her for anything. Lynda also was a long time member of her church, Calvary Tabernacle. However, she didn’t merely attend church. Lynda was a devoted, God-fearing woman who never missed a service until her illness prevented her from attending. However, in her many years of dedication to her faith, she influenced and touched the lives of many, and her legacy will live on as a testimony to God’s grace and mercy. She lived a life that was an example of this for all to see. Our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, has gained the most beautiful soul for all of eternity. Lynda was preceded in death by her parents and three of her siblings: Thurston Pennington, Hershel Pennington, Flora Pennington-Cosby, and Clifford W. Pennington. She is survived by her loving husband and three remaining siblings: Jerry Welch, Carolyn Pennington-Higginbotham, Robert Pennington, James Pennington, Michael Pennington, and Cynthia Pennington-Roberts. Visitation will be at Callison-Lough Funeral Home 605 W Central Ave Bentonville, Arkansas from 2-4 PM, and the memorial service will take place at Calvary Tabernacle 2612 E Central Ave Bentonville, Arkansas at 1 PM. Burial will be directly after the memorial at the Bentonville cemetery 400 SW F St Bentonville, Arkansas. The family encourages all to attend, and celebrate the life and legacy of an extraordinary woman.

Although I have only met and talked to Lynda once, years back, I feel like I have known her through her sister, Carol. Being friends with Carol, for many years, I have heard so many loving comments regarding Lynda and the Christian life she has lived. She has told me what a precious, loving sister she is and how in her last days she was patiently waiting for her Heavenly Father to call her home. What peace she must have felt as she so sweetly waited.

I also want to say the tribute to Lynda Pennington Welch, written in her obituary, shows what a good person she was and how she loved her family and how her family loved her. I know there are many broken hearts because she was loved so much, but what a consolation to know there is no longer suffering and pain. To my friend Carol and Lynda's family, my thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.

Love,
Margaret

I have many memories of my sweet cousin and every single memory was great. I remember when they moved back from California, I thought she was so beautiful, she was so tiny and had the big hair that just came in style. Lol she was the person I could always talk to about anything. I loved and love her so much. she will always be in my heart. until we meet again.
