Maj. Dr. Richard E. Ivy, Ph.D, 76, passed away on June 24, 2020 in Bentonville. He was born on February 13, 1944 to the late Clifford E. and Maxine (Smith) Ivy. Richard was a Biochemist who developed an animal growth hormone, of which he received a nomination for a Nobel Peace Prize. He was a Major in the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War. He loved being outdoors fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Ann Ivy and granddaughter, Mary Ann Ivy. Richard is survived by his son, Aaron Ivy (Heather) of Indiana; daughters, Heather Lumsdon (Erik) of Indiana and Tiffany Boling of Bentonville; brothers, C.A. Ivy of Ft. Smith and Billy Ray Ivy of Oklahoma; sisters, Margie Ivy and Susie Harger both of Bentonville and Della Jane Ivy of Missouri; 6 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. His graveside service will be Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 10am in Oakley Chapel Cemetery, Rogers. Arrangements are under the care of www.callisonlough.com.
