Mark Stephen Malo, 58, of Bentonville, AR passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024 at home surrounded by his family after a battle with melanoma cancer. He was born in Columbus, OH on February 11, 1966 to Arthur and Marilyn Malo. Mark grew up in Gahanna, OH and graduated from Gahanna Lincoln High School before attending Bowling Green State University in northern Ohio where he was a proud member and past president of the Sigma Chi fraternity.
He went on to have an impressive corporate career holding leadership roles with Frito Lay and Clorox, and later as an independent business consultant, as well as an operating partner for Yellow Wood Partners.
Mark was an amazing father to his two sons, Michael and Jordan, and an incredible husband to his wife, Rachel. He loved to mountain bike, play golf, cook, watch sports, play cards and spend time with family and friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh by sharing jokes, GIFs and stories. Mark was also dedicated to many community causes and was very passionate about the Boys & Girls Club of Benton County, where he served on the board for several years, including as board president from 2020 to 2023, and was the recipient of numerous awards.
Mark will be deeply missed by his family, and his many friends and colleagues. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Malo of Bentonville, AR, his sons, Michael Malo of Orlando, FL and Jordan Malo of Bentonville, AR, his parents, Arthur and Marilyn Malo of Gahanna, OH, and his two brothers, Michael Malo of Nashville, TN and Matthew Malo of Gahanna, OH.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 1 inside the Mark and Rachel Malo Youth Sports Center at the Boys & Girls Club of Benton County (Carl and Alleen McKinney Unit) at 2801 N. Walker St., Bentonville, AR. Additional parking spaces at Catalyst Church in Bentonville, across the street from the Boys and Girls Club.
