I only just heard the dreadful news regarding Mark. We first met when we were competitors in Canada - him for Clorox, me for Lysol. However, we sat on the board at the CCSPCA together, and it's to his credit that after we both moved on from Canada we kept in touch.

A few years later he reached out when he was at Yellow Wood with some work on Scholl, and we stayed in contact after. 

Several times a year we'd exchange emails or have a call, and he was always cheerful, helpful and positive. We were last in touch at New Year. True to form, he gave no indication of the diagnosis, asking about my work situation and making some suggestions. 

It's a real shock to hear, and I can only send my condolences to his family for what must be a dreadful time. I hope they can find the strength to get through and should know we all thought the world of him. As requested, I've made a donation to Boys and Girls Clubs of Benton County.

There are no words to adequately express our deepest sympathy for Rachel and the entire Malo family.  Mark was truly extraordinary. In his 58 years, he impacted more lives and accomplished more than many dare to dream of. His presence made the world a brighter, more beautiful place. The Fisher Family feels privileged to have called him a friend and to have been graced by his kindness.  He will forever hold a cherished place in our hearts.

From the day I met Mark in 1996, there was an instant bond.  From our stories as Sigma Chi’s (his were better) to being neighbors in Danville to convincing him to come to Bentonville - you couldn’t help but love him.  Your integrity, intellect, courage and that distinctive laugh will always be a part of me.  Love you brother.    Ed

I’ve known Mark and his family for close to 25 years and to say Mark was like a mentor to me would be an understatement. I’ve had the pleasure of becoming close friends with the Malo family as well as having worked very closely professionally with Mark for a good majority of those 25 years.  

For me, Mark embodied the true essence of friendship – steadfast loyalty, unwavering support, and boundless compassion. His presence brought warmth and joy to every gathering. I was very fortunate to have worked for Mark 3 times in my career.  I still remember how welcome he and Rachel made my family feel when we moved to Toronto to work for him for the 2nd time. I am grateful I was able to know him well and will miss the impact he had on me.  

Over the last few months, I have been reminded of the profound impact Mark had on each of us. The # of stories told, calls received and pictures shown.  Just the words used to describe Mark…..mentor, leader, humble, down to earth, legacy, authentic……Mark was all of these, and many, many more.  His spirit will live on in the lives he touched.  I will miss him greatly.

I was an admin for Mark for little over a year, when he was on the Sam's team.  He was a wonderful boss.  When I told him I was applying for a different position he asked me why.  I told him he was too good and would be moving up soon.  I was right!  He moved up all the way.  I will never forget him.  
To his family, I am so sorry for your loss.  I pray the Lord will comfort you.

I am absolutely devastated with Mark’s passing.  Mark and I met while working for Frito in Williamsport, PA in 1988.  We became fast friends immediately, hanging out, playing basketball and enjoying life.  Mark was a conspirator for my surprise 30th birthday party(pictured) @ The Peter Herdic House.  He convinced me that he and I were going to a charity auction and that everyone was dressing in Victorian costumes.  Mark was always a GREAT sales person !!!  I am
so grateful for Mark’s friendship over these past 34 years. Rest in Peace my friend.

I met Mark some 15 years ago when he was referred to me by another client.  It wasn't long after Mark became a client that he became my friend. 

Mark always left me with a smile on my face and usually had me belly laughing every time we would get together.  His sense of humor was wildly contagious and he was quick with his wit.  

Some years back, I invited Mark, Rachel and another couple to join my wife and me for a special viewing at Crystal Bridges.  Mark asked me if it was a black tie event.  It wasn't, but I told Mark it was.  We met for cocktails before heading to the museum that evening and when Mark walked through the door in a full tuxedo, he realized I had pulled a prank on him.  Mark was the only person in the museum that night with a tuxedo on, and he took it upon himself to open the doors for me as we entered and exited exhibits as though he was my personal butler.  I will never forget that evening and I tell the story often! 

Mark was crazy about his wife and very proud of his two sons.  Mark had integrity, honesty, and was an all around good human being.  The world was a better place with him in it.  

Mark, may you rest in peace, Amigo!

Mark and I worked together at Clorox. He was an exceptional leader, full of integrity and humility, and an even a better person. 

We were both big basketball fans and one of my favourite stories was how he named your kids Michael and Jordan after Michael Jordan. I thought that was the coolest thing I ever heard and I must have told that story to countless family and friends. 

He will be missed dearly.

Hi, I am sorry to hear the passing of Mark. I used to work at Clorox Canada in Sales.  I was early in my career in Sales.  Mark did so much to help me get ahead in my career, build my confidence, and he helped my family obtain a Greencard so my family could come to US.  I often think about Mark and the support he provided to me and my family which I will always be grateful for.

I’m so sorry for your loss.  Sending prayers and condolences to your family.  My husband and I graduated from BGSU.   We were there in 81-85.  Chris was an Sig Ep.  I’m sure they crossed paths at some point.   It’s heartbreaking to hear that Mark passed away so young.   My deepest sympathies ❤️

When I was a new team lead, Mark accompanied me to work meetings on a several occasions to offer support. When introducing himself to others he’d always say, “I’m Mark and I work for Clorox” instead of dropping his (senior) title. He exemplified this profound humility through his words and actions.   One of many leadership lessons from Mark that imprinted my career and personal life. 

I’m grateful for the mentorship, leadership, and friendship Mark extended to me and the Clorox Canada family.

Mark's passion for youth development knew no bounds.  He attended every fundraising event for the Club and always took the time to congratulate all of our Youth of the Year winners.  Here is a picture of him with last year's winner, Kayleigh S.

As a board member, Mark took the time to get to know every single full-time Boys & Girls Club staff member.  He never missed an opportunity to stop by and visit to offer a kind word or congratulate a staff member on a recent accomplishment.  His constant positive attitude and incredible smile rubbed off on everyone he met.

Mark was a HUGE supporter of the Boys & Girls Club of Benton County, serving as a volunteer from 2005-2014 and a board member from 2015-2024.  His selflessness impacted the lives of thousands of youth here in NWA.  This is a picture of him at a "beach party" fundraiser, helping to raise money for the kids.

Dear Rachel and Family,

I was saddened hearing the passing of Mark.  My thoughts and prayers go out to you and family at this difficult time. 

I remember when Mark came into the GM Canada job as an unknown entity. But it wasn’t too long before we all recognized what kind of man he was. Kind, caring and empathetic. He was also a great listener always taking time no matter how busy he was to listen to your idea or concern. I counted him as a friend from the first day I met him. 

I fondly remember the times we golfed together on weekends.  Rounds filled with his contagious smile and laugh. His funny banter between shots. 
He was always the one asking in the middle of the week…Want to play this weekend? I would always say absolutely.

I was saddened to hear the news of the passing of Mark.

Mark and I had met during his years at Clorox in Canada, and I have such great memories of my time spent with Mark, when I think of Mark the following words come to mind, Genuine, authentic, humble, and empathetic.

I will never forget how Mark supported me through a difficult time and how he was instrumental in helping me exit the CPG industry.

I only had the pleasure of working with Mark for one year at Clorox Canada but during that time it was very clear that he was both a great leader and a great human. I recall him walking around the office at noon sharp when we had Friday summer hours, insisting that employees go home.  I recall him saying, " Go enjoy the afternoon and do something fun. And if you don't have anything fun to do, go cut the grass or do your errands.  We all deserve time away from work."   Very few leaders recognize that balance doesn't reduce productivity but instead increases it.  My condolences to the family on having to say goodbye too soon to a great husband and father.

In loving memory of our dear colleague Mark, who brought joy and camaraderie into our lives. Our connection extended beyond the workplace; our sons playing rep-basketball created bonds that made every game day special. I am so sorry....I can only hope the comments and tributes coming in give you some comfort in knowing how extrodinary your husband and father was.  He touched my life in a way that made me a better wife, mother, profesional and friend. Mark and I could be completely honest and vulerable with each other, through a friendship that blosomed over 15 years. Mark was such an amazing person that took the time to show kindness, love and compasion in way not many people do. I loved Mark and will miss him deeply.  My prayers go out to you in the days ahead.
